Assessment

There are 3 written exams and 3 oral grades per semester:  

- Written exams will be:

• 30% reading comprehension,
• 30% vocabulary and grammar,
• 30% writing
• 10% teacher’s discretion (extra reading, vocab, grammar or writing)  

- Oral grades will be:

• 30% listening comprehension test
• 40% speaking (observed over time)
• 30% teacher’s discretion (ex. participation, homework, quizzes, vocab tests, projets, presentations, essays)  

- One oral grade will be given at the time of each written exam.  

In addition to our school's oral and written grades, there are external exams that students can write:

• For French students: DELF (Diplome etranger langue francaise)
• For German students: DaF (Deutsch als Fremdspracher)
