EXCURSION TO SULTANAHMET-PİYER LOTİ WITH 7th GRADES

7th grade students will visit Sultanahmet-Piyer Loti during the week the story book Gizli Mabet from Ömer Seyfetin will be studied.

Places Visited

• Sultanahmet / Soğuk Çeşme Street (Ayasofya Evleri Hotel, İstanbul Library, Caferağa Madrasah)                      
•  Cankurtaran / Dede Efendi Museum House
• Eyüp (Pazariçi) / Historical Piyer Loti Cafe

Objectives of the Visit

• Ensure that students visualize -by making use of the excursions made to the places similar to those described in the story - the lifestyle of people in the times the story takes place. 
• Ensure that students have an idea about the life in İstanbul in old times and that they can establish correlation between the story and the time period it takes place.
• Promote writing skills of the students.

Examination Assignment Given to the Students for Excursion

Students will be asked to write a descriptive paragraph on one of the places they have visited.

EXCURSION TO ORHAN KEMAL MUSEUM HOUSE WITH 8TH GRADERS 

8th graders will visit Orhan Kemal Museum House in the week the story "Çikolata" from Orhan Kemal will be read.

Objective of the Visit

To have the students explore the literary personality of Orhan Kemal and his place in Turkish literature.

Excursion Program

• Students will visit the museum, where Orhan Kemal's personal belongings are displayed, and they will receive information about Orhan Kemal and His Art from his son Işık Öğütçü.
• Students will watch Orhan Kemal Documentary in İkbal Kahvesi in the Museum.
• Students will buy books.

Assignment

Students will be asked to write a written exposition about one of Orhan Kemal’s stories, making use of the impressions they have had during their visit to Orhan Kemal Museum House.
