General information

Department area covers Social Sciences, Turkish History of Revolution and Atatürk Doctrines and Religion and Ethics.

Common objective of all subject areas is to raise generations who are adherent to Atatürk principles and revolutions, willing to maintain national and contemporary values, who are eager to play role in the social, cultural and economic development of the country, who are equipped with democratic values, and who are active and productive in social life.

In each subject area, students are instilled values like love for country and nation, awareness about self-rights and responsibilities, sensibility about environment, hardworking and honesty, in parallel with the main objectives of the subject area:

• Creative and critical thinking
• Perceiving time and space
• Using knowledge appropriately and in various forms (Graphics, maps, tables, etc.)
• Making researches
• Understand changes and continuity

Lessons are conducted in constructive approach, and subjects are covered in intra-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary association, and technology is made use of. In-city and out-of-city excursions are organized in association with the subjects.

As for measurement and assessment, not only result-oriented but also process-oriented methods and tools are used.
