The Vehbi Koç Foundation

The Vehbi Koç Foundation, the first large-scale private foundation in Turkey, was established by Vehbi Koç in 1969. With a focus on education, culture and health-care, the most fundamental requirements of life, the Foundation strives to improve conditions in a modern and ever-developing Turkey.

The educational institutions affiliated with the Vehbi Koç Foundation are Koç Elementary and High School, and Koç University. The Foundation has sponsored and contributed to the construction of many facilities such as schools, dormitories and libraries, the management of which has subsequently been turned over to the related government agencies. It also gives scholarships to thousands of students in order to help create equal opportunities in education.
